My Birthday Weekend
I'm twenty years old! May 19th was my 20th birthday and I feel really old now. I have SO many pictures to put up because I've been neglecting The Blonde Excuse while my boyfriend visited. Anyway, I'll begin with Thursday, when Brent arrived for my birthday weekend. It was a beautiful afternoon so Brent and I decided to take a walk. We walked to Binney Park, which is on my street, and then we went to the beach. Here are some pictures from that afternoon.
Flower outside my house:

Brent crouching by the one of the big turtles we saw at the park:

Turtle:

Brent didn't want to touch the turtle, so I did it first:

But he did it too:

Brent climbing my favorite tree at the park:

After the park, we drove to the beach where we shared a hot dog and fries at the snack stand and bumped into Jennifer, a friend from Trinity who also lives in Greenwich.
Brent making a face:

As we walked along the trails, we had a show-down with this crab:

Brent and I won.
Bee:

Someone had set these rocks up in about 5 little groups on the beach:

Brent again:

If you look, you can see Brent's giant rock that he dropped off the bridge in mid-air:

A telephone pole washing up on the rocks... I don't know why:

Brent took this beautiful picture of one of the beach bridges:

Lots of shells:

A break in the cloudy sky:

A duck couple:

Brent on the path to the castle ruins:

Goslings:

After the beach, we came back home to have a delicious chicken cordon bleu dinner that my mom and I made:

Afterwards, Brent and I made strawberry bruschetta which might sound strange, but it's really good:

Brent liked the blow torch so much that he found ways to use it on sandwiches the next day:

It was my birthday on Friday, so after lunch Brent asked me what I wanted to do and I felt like going for another walk, so we walked down to the park and then into Old Greenwich to a little book store.
Here are some of my pictures from Friday afternoon:

A storm was on the way:

Despite the weather, Brent and I continued on to the book store where we found a really cute cat in the window:

The weather kept getting worse, so Brent and I decided to head back home. We started running to get in out of the rain and almost made it.
The sky getting really dark as the rain started:

Well, anyway, we got back home and got ready for my birthday dinner!
Around the same time as we got home, my sister Jocelyn arrived. We all had some champagne, cheese and crackers while I opened my birthday presents.

Jocelyn brought us all an appetizer of cupcakes from Buttercup Bake Shop:

We took our cupcakes with us on the road to the Boxcar Cantina, a Mexican restaurant in Greenwich that I chose for my birthday dinner.

My tacos:

After dinner we rushed over to PoCho to the movie theater to see The Da Vinci Code.
Mom and Jocelyn walking into the theater:

The movie was completely sold out, so we got tickets for the late showing and wasted some time at the shoe store next door. While my mom and Jocelyn were shoe shopping and my dad was drinking coffee at Starbucks, Brent and I borrowed Jocelyn's camera and went down to the street where there was a group of protesters. When we got there, they saw Brent and me with a big professional-looking camera, they thought we were the press so they all huddled together, turned their signs towards us, and started singing and marching around in circles for our benefit. If only we weren't there just to make fun of them on the internet....
Protesters:

After wasting about an hour in the shoe store, Jocelyn, Brent, my mom, and I found my dad at the Starbucks in the movie theater and got on the snack line. Anyone who hasn't been to the Loews Theater in Port Chester, NY should totally check it out just for the snack selection. They sell the usual movie snacks, Starbucks, cakes and pastries, ice cream, etc. While we were waiting in line, I made fun of my mom's giant glasses, so Brent took my picture wearing them:

My mom is convinced that by the time she gets new ones, the old ones will be back in style....
Anyway, the movie was very different from the book in a lot of the details... but I still enjoyed it. It was an amazing book and a very good movie.
After the movie we came home to have cake! We had a huge chocolate cake with cheesecake filling and chocolate frosting with a princess on top! It was beautiful and so yummy!
But first, I took this picture of Brent reading because I think he's cute:

My gorgeous cake!

Apparently, some people in the store asked my mom how old I was and she had to tell them it was my 20th birthday... how embarrassing. I loved my princess cake, though.

Davey:

That concludes my actual birthday, so moving on to Saturday.
Saturday early afternoon, Brent, my dad, and I went to the driving range to hit a bucket of balls. I did terribly, as usual, but Brent and my dad did very well.
Driving range in Stamford, CT:

I liked this lady's outfit... I wish you could see the bottom half better:

My new bag is named Marcia because I thought that would be a good girl version of Marc, so I decided to take this picture to remember Marcia's first day out:

My dad in the cool golf hat I got him in Naples:

Brent:

BMW art:

On the way home, we saw a library bus:

A war protest:

A gas pump in someone's front yard:

When we got home, we had leftover cake for lunch:

Davey took a nap with the dog:

We went over to my grandparents' house after golf to see them after their trip to Bermuda. They bought me a T-shirt and gin haha.
Fountain outside my grandparents' place:

When we got home, Brent and I had to run a few errands in Old Greenwich:

And here's a random cute squirrel in my yard:

I got excited about my camera and taking pictures, so Brent and I went on a photographic exploration of Riverside, the part of Greenwich that I live in.
We started with the church pre-school that I went to:

"Dedicated to the dreams of our children"

Then we continued through the rest of Riverside on our photographic tour:

Horse-shaped tire swing:

I think that's all I can do for right now. I have a TON more pictures that I'm going to be putting up tomorrow, so check back! After the photographic tour of Riverside, I went out with all my friends to a restaurant on Greenwich Ave. to celebrate Kristina's and my birthday (we have the same one!) and then to Ali's house for the party afterwards, so that's what will be up tomorrow. Goodnight everyone!
