Recovering From the Plague

Luckily, as finals are approaching, I'm getting over my bout of the plague. Here are a few random pictures from the past few days to keep you mildly entertained while you view my site. Anyway, when I was first getting sick, Brent, being the most amazing boyfriend ever, invited me over to his room to watch a movie with him and secretly set up all my stuffed animals (and his black lab that I got him because it looked like his dog, Beamer) with a blanket and pillows before I got back to school:

The weekend hasn't been that interesting, so the pictures will be equally boring. Here's a picture of the new street light in Hartford:

I know what you're thinking... that I've really gone entirely insane with my picture-taking... but actually this street light is really cool. It's not like any of the others where there are a lot of little lights within the big circle of the green/yellow/red light, these are somehow reflective pannel things that I don't understand at all. You probably can't see that very well in the picture, though... making this pointless. Ok, you're right, I'm an obsessive picture-taker.

Friday night was actually really nice, I spoke too soon about the boring weekend. Brent's parents took Brent and me to a restaurant in Hartford called Peppercorns Grill which has delicious Italian food and is definitely worth trying if you're in the area.

Friday was, of course, Cinco De Mayo so I thought I should take a picture of the Corona decorations outside Coyote Flaco in Hartford:

Normally I would include a link to the restaurant... but I wouldn't want to subject anyone to 3 hours of being violently ill afterwards. Coyote Flaco and I do NOT get along.

Couches across the street from Trinity (we sort of live in the ghetto):

Another useless picture coming up...

Ant colony:

And finally, my two favorite pictures of the day, the squirrel who lives in the tree right outside Funtown:

The squirrels here at school are 1)Obese and 2)Frighteningly (for me) unafraid of humans. I love squirrels, but not when they get close to me and look at me with that "Do I know you? I think I've seen you around somewhere but I'm not sure... Should I say hello? No, I'll sort of half smile and keep walking" kind of look on their little rat faces. Now I'm just creeping myself out. Anyway, this particular squirrel was cute until it almost dropped down right on top of my head! It was seriously only about a foot away from hitting me and it was terribly traumatic. It was eating flowers and dropping them on people. All right, enough procrastinating... I have an 8-10 page paper on Rousseau to write.
