Marblehead, MA

Wow, it's been a really really long time! We're having some serious internet problems at my house (I'm on the neighbors' wireless right now, shhh!) so I haven't been able to post in a while. Anyway, last Wednesday, my mom, my dad, and I went up to Marblehead, MA to see my dad's side of the family. They're all from Marblehead and now my Uncle Sam and Suzie live there again, so we had a little family gathering back on Dad's old stomping grounds (I can't believe I just used that phrase).

Anyway, we had a great time and I've definitely discovered which side of the family I inherited my picture-taking obsession from.

My cousin, Alison, and her boyfriend, Doug:

Uncle Les and my dad... most likely discussing real estate:

My dad, the neighbor who stopped by (I forgot his name), Uncle Sam, and Suzie:

The filet's "before" picture:

I don't think there's an "after" picture of the meat because we ate it so fast! My family knows what to do with food.

Doug, Alison, and Uncle Hugh:

Davey on his cell phone (as usual):

What a beautiful harbor view!

Whatever, Life is Good:

My dad said this looked a lot like Grandpa's old barometer... maybe it is?

My dad and Me:

Aunt Susan and Uncle Les:

Right as we were starting to grill outside, a huge storm hit! It was the day of the tornado in Greenwich (an F1 for anyone who might be interested) but apparently there were a number of tornadoes in the Northeast. As we were standing outside we saw this dark line cross over the sky. I think I know a lot about meteorology, but I couldn't figure out what it could be. If anyone knows, I'm really curious! Here are a couple pictures and videos:

Even a tornado-producing storm can't keep us from our BBQ dinner!

Uncle Sam and my dad out by the grill in torrential rain:

This picture got messed up but I thought it looked cool, so I'll put it up anyway:

While we were all together, Alison and Seth had the great idea of surprising their parents, my Aunt Anne and Uncle Hugh, with a cake for their 40th wedding anniversary! What a sweet (and delicious!) idea:

Proof that my picture-taking obsession is genetic:

Blowing out the candles:

I really liked Suzie's decorations, she told us that her mom used to make hats and gave her one of the model heads, pictured here:

Seth in everyone's favorite chair:

Can you tell they're brothers?

Aunt Anne, Aunt Susan, and Uncle Hugh:

Uncle Sam's car, "Marblehead, MA" on his Florida plates:

We had to leave right after breakfast so it was a short visit, but a whole lot of fun. On the drive home, we had another storm:

Well, that's all for my Marblehead pictures. Just to give you all a preview of what's to come on The Blonde Excuse, last night my friend Kristina took me to the Bon Jovi concert with her company, Island Def Jam, which happens to be Bon Jovi's record label. Needless to say, we had the best seats available... well, I guess you can't really call ON STAGE "seats." I don't want to give anything else away, so you're going to have to wait and check back soon!

Comments

Ok, I officially hate PhotoBucket videos. They cut both my videos down to 26 seconds... You-Tube it is! I might be re-posting those videos later.

Looks like so much fun. I wish I could have been there.
