Full Moon
For those of you who don't leave your homes after dark, there was a full moon last night. Brent and I went to the movies to see The Prestige in Simmsbury, CT last night (good movie, by the way) and afterwards Brent took me for a drive in Farmington to show me the condo he and his parents lived in while their house in Avon was being built. We never did find the condo, it was dark and he hasn't lived there in years, but that didn't make the trip any less exciting. Brent and I got a little lost out in some farmlands. Strangely enough, we were actually only a few yards away from the actual street we wanted to be on when we turned around and headed back. Anyway, keep in mind that this is relatively late at night because we had seen a late movie, so there weren't any other cars on the road and there was no sign of people anywhere... except in a glowing red shed in the backyard of some sort of farm house. Past a long stretch of field, Brent and I noticed a red light coming out from behind some trees. We drove closer and discovered that it was coming out of a giant window in a shed in someone's backyard. The window had an enormous star on it and inside there were people sitting around a table, silently staring at something. It was probably one of the creepiest things I've ever seen and we drove by VERY quickly. I think the image is probably better left to the imagination, but I drew it to give you an idea of what this shed looked like:

On the drive back towards school, Brent and I were on a scenic drive in Farmington with old houses and stone churches on either side. While really beautiful, that's sorta creepy too. As we were driving, we saw the black silhouette of a wolf. When we got closer and the headlights hit it, it was, in fact, a lone wolf walking across the street right in front of us. It reached the other side, stopped, turned around, and watched us drive past. It was one of the most amazing slash terrifying things I've ever witnessed. I've never seen a wolf up close, especially not a wild wolf wandering through the suburbs of Hartford, CT. It was a real wolf, not a huskie, not a coyote, I've seen those up close, this was a wolf. Maybe it wouldn't have been so weird if it hadn't been a full moon, or if I hadn't watched years of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and know all about werewolves... yes, I'm that cool. I guess that concludes my little full moon story. If anyone else has a fun full moon story from last night or any other full moon, please share!
