You Fight Like A Penguin
So, after all the Thanksgiving festivities, I thought it would be fun to get our friends together again before we all go back to college. Molly, Cathy, Ali, and Vanessa came over to my house on Friday to watch scary movies. We rented Stay Alive and The Omen. Stay Alive was sorta weird and not too scary in my opinion, but what can you expect from a horror movie starring Frankie Muniz. The basic idea of the movie is that through some sort of magical haunting of a video game, everyone dies the way their video game character dies. The Omen was better, I think, but very typical of that kind of movie. If you've seen one Catholic church horror movie, you've seen them all. It still made us scream a couple times, though. What I liked the best was the use of the color red. Most of the scenes were very drab (it took place mostly in London in the Winter) but there would always be one or two bright red things somewhere. An interesting fact about the movie, though, is that the little kid who played Damien didn't know that his character was supposed to be possessed by the devil because the director thought he was too young to understand.
Anyway, here's an artistic representation of the night since I didn't use my camera.
Molly (with her sprained foot), Cathy, Ali, Me, and Vanessa:

I'm definitely going to miss everyone, but we'll be home soon for Christmas!
Last night, my family went over to Cathy's family's house. Our families haven't gotten together for a really long time so it was nice to see everyone again. Cathy, Mike, Katie (Mike's friend), and I watched "Rob & Big" while playing Uno, drinking juice boxes and enjoying a delicious apple pie made by Cathy.
Jake, their dog, has an adorable little Santa outfit (the picture quality is really bad because they were taken with my camera phone):

Anyway, as the night progressed, Cathy and Mike got into some sort of fight in which Mike hit cathy "like a penguin." I don't think I need to explain, just think about it... yes, that's it. Cathy hit him back and then Mike threw Cathy backwards where she fell on top of a giant empty TV box and fell right through. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen and I didn't have my camera!! Oh well, maybe next time....
That's all for now! I have to get back to school this afternoon, but I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Weekend!
