Me, I Want a Hula Hoop!

That's Christmas lyric title number four for those of you keeping track. And if you were wondering, it's the Alvin & The Chipmunks version, not the real one, that I had in mind. I was going to simply have it say "Christmas, Christmas Time is Here" but this one is more fun. By the way, I don't actually want a hula hoop. I want an Easy Bake Oven.

Anyway, today Brent and I celebrated our Christmas. I know it's a couple weeks early, but we don't get to see each other on the 25th so we have our own little Christmas earlier in December each year. We chose today for two reasons. 1- Brent got his English paper out of the way so there's nothing due this week for either of us and 2- Our Greek History final isn't until the 20th so this gives us plenty of time to enjoy our Christmas without worrying about studying or any other school nonsense.

In preparation for today's Christmas, Brent and I have been decorating my room with all sorts of Christmasey things. My mom got me a fiber optic Christmas tree and a string of Christmas lights pictured here:

Some of the little ornaments for the tree:

Brent and I made a "no bags" rule for Christmas this year. No matter what shape our presents for each other were, we had to find a way to wrap them with wrapping paper. This proved to be a little more difficult for Brent than for myself.... As I'm sure you could have guessed, all of Brent's presents for me are pink and all of mine for him are green (our favorite colors!):

I liked this picture because it somehow looks like the tree is on fire:

Presents!

There's nothing more exciting than stacks of presents under the Christmas tree. Last night, being our Christmas Eve, Brent and I played some Christmas music on iTunes while sitting in the living room (my carpet). I guess that's how college kids do Christmas.

Before calling it a night, I set up all of Brent's and my stuffed animals by the tree so that they could enjoy it too (all of them are mine except the black lab, and all of them are gifts from each other):

I woke Brent up bright and early this morning (around 10ish) for present opening!

The first gift opened was a book from Brent called The Art of Winnie the Pooh. I had wanted an art book because dorm rooms are boring and stupid and I thought it would be fun to have a book of something nice to look at and Brent had the brilliant idea of Winnie the Pooh! It has illustrations of Pooh and friends along with little quotes from the Disney shows and movies which definitely brought me back to a time when Winnie the Pooh was a major influence in my life... I guess he still is. I'll be posting pictures from the book soon.

Silly, Willy, Nilly, Old Bear

The first present Brent opened was a Ralph Lauren Rugby scarf from me! Brent loves the RL Rugby store but there are only a few spread out across the country and you can't get their stuff online or in a catalog, so when I was home at some point I stopped in the store and picked out a really cool or "badass," as Brent would put it, skull and crossbones scarf. I think he likes it!

I got to open the very oddly shaped gift under the tree, a Robo-Raptor! I know I'm a huge dork, but I wanted a Robo-Raptor sooo badly and my wonderful boyfriend got me one and painted it pink and purple! He knows me so well (refer to the baby carriage with a lace-wrapped bat story in O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree).

My pink and purple Robo-Raptor:

I love it!

How awesome is this:

Perhaps one of the best parts of my Robo-Raptor is the card Brent wrote me:

He's such a dork, but I love him.

Brent then opened his "24" DVD board game. Brent and his family have "24" marathons every year and this game lets you try to solve a case of your own, searching for clues around Los Angeles with the rest of the CTU team, given only 24 hours to find and stop the terrorists. And you thought Monopoly was a long game!

Brent doing the Jack Bauer face:

Last, but not least, Brent opened the homemade-ish mug and hot chocolate from me. Brent had told me a few weeks ago that he lost his favorite mug, so I had a new one made for him at Cafe Press.

Mug, hot chocolate, and marshmallows on a stick:

Aww...

All the presents under the tree again:

It has been a fantastic Christmas and I'm sure Brent will be blogging about it soon, so make sure you check out yes, considerably! A lot of these pictures were taken by Brent so expect some duplicates.

Nice paint job on the robo-raptor. I like pink and purple a lot more than black and white.

Didn't he do a great job on it? Pink and Purple is definitely more "me." We named her Princess.
