Library Lockdown
So I just thought I'd share with everyone how safe Hartford is. We all just got a notification that students in their residence halls aren't allowed to leave and everyone in the library is on "lockdown" because of a violent carjacking by a Hartford local who ran onto Trinity's campus. We're all supposed to stay inside so as not to get killed while police helicopters scour the campus with searchlights.
Hartford is the best!

Scary! It is like how my summer camp was right next door to a biker commune. They would get drunk and tear through my summer camp on their Harley's. It was scary but I loved it because I thought it was exciting!

The college would have been smart to act immediately. Actually, they didn't notify us until 2 hours after it happened and "forgot" to tell us it was "safe" until sometime this morning when we got an e-mail saying "the Hartford Police Department believes Trinity is no longer in immediate danger" aka they lost him but it's daylight.

That's nuts! My husband's friend went to Yale and he's told us stories about Hartford. We thought he was exaggerating, but I guess he wasn't.
He said crime in New Haven was also terrible, and except for the campus the city of New Haven was a dump.
We west coasters had no idea!

Hartford and New Haven are definitely not the nicest parts of Connecticut....
