Who Are You People?
I've actually been meaning to do this entry for a while now and figured that my picture-less week would be the perfect time for this (aka I have nothing to write about without my pictures).
Since The Blonde Excuse started about a year and a half ago, I've had a number of viewers every day, currently averaging 84. I know that must sound like nothing to all you serious bloggers out there, but for me with my relatively useless personal blog, that's a big achievment! I'm sure a lot of you get here by accident, but even taking that into consideration there have to be a lot of completely random people out there who care on a semi-regular enough basis to check out my pictures and little life stories.
Let me get to it... who are you?
I know who some of you are... friends, family, regular commenters, etc. but who are the rest of you?
I get hits from random MySpace blogs that I can't access (which makes me really curious what you're saying about me!), from all sorts of different mail hosts (which means you guys are talking about me to your friends), and from a few personalized web browser pages and saved links in random other websites and blogs. Basically, you guys get to see a little into my life (well, a lot actually) so the least you can do is tell me who you are!
ANYONE who is reading this, whether I know you or not, please leave me a comment! If you have me linked somewhere, if you have me saved on your computer, if you've ever e-mailed a link to my site to someone you know, or even if you're on here by accident wondering why you haven't X-ed out of the window yet, please comment and tell me who you are! I want this entry to be my personal Guestbook because I really appreciate all my readers. I have really low expectations for this, but I hope you guys prove me wrong.
Friends, family, strangers, stalkers... comment now!
Thanks!

ME! I am your sister and I read EVERY day. Sometimes more than once!

I read your blog and I link it. I've commented like twice.

I once clicked on a link from a message that you posted on Perez Hilton and that's how I came to this blog.
I live on the other side of the world and I find it quite interesting to see how other people (ie you) live their lives.

We went to high school together (at least; I went to CMS--I don't think you did?). You import your blogs on Facebook and I click on them because they're well-written and you take amazing pictures.

I found your blog through the rock star diary which I found through smitten kitchen which I found through.....I can't recall now. I clicked over to yours because it's fascinating these little glimpses into a life completely different seeming then my own. So I checked your blog out because of curiosity.

I used to read Smitten Kitten (not Kitchen), which lead me to Rock Star Diary, which lead me to your blog, which is check out because it brings me back to my college days. And, I'm from Connecticut which makes it even more interesting. :)

Well let's see... who am i.. Im still trying to figure that out..just ask my therapist.
Anyways, I read Debs blog when she was still on typepad.. then she went to ivillage.. on 1 of her blog posts someone complained she was getting boring (she was newly married to alex) and your sister commented that if anyone wanted to see real drama and excitement to check out her blog.. rock star diary... so I went there (which, I love her blog too)... naturally being the nosey girl that I am, i clicked on the link to your blog.. and voila. Now I can even say im part of the "rock star family"..well... since im a "prize winning" guest blogger... not many people get to say that! I also (on the rare occasion he posts) read your boyfriends blog.. god you 2 are soo adorable.. (in my snarky, wish i was 20 again voice, you're ken and barbie)
As for me? Im in my 30's, live in northern california, im not a hippie.. we call ourselfs "tree huggers" .. I have 3 cats, 2 dogs and a specialty cupcake shop.. I dont believe in boyfriends, they suck... why I have so many pets... they listen a lot better.
I'll be in New York over the 4th of July and asked your sister about the best place to see the fireworks and she kindly invited me to the BDL/BSB for her party on the 4th. Its actually just my evil plan of stealing Tim (bc hes just so damn cute)
Now.. back to you, missy.
step-away-from-the-krispy-kremes.
I'd really like to go to a party at the playboy mansion, and, so far, youre my only hope at getting an invite.. i mean, since I (and your sister) hooked you up and all... Im just sayin.. dont be selfish and only think of yourself... think of what this would do to her and I.
giggle.
Um Um thats about it..
Oh, hows Frisky?

I also read Smitten Kitten..linked to Rock Star...etc.
I'm in my late 30's living in Columbus, OH. I've spent lots of time in NYC and somehow found the Kitten blog and loved it. Also love reading Rock Star and of course yours too.

Well, I'm your mother and I read your blog every day. I think all your stories are hilarious and I love the pictures. When I'm missing you (all the time), I especially like the pictures. Keep blogging, I love it!

Hey loverpants. I'm a friend, I guess. Maybe more than a friend... depending on our moods, of course. Anyways, I read your blog everday! And its saved in my favorite links in my computer. Consider yourself lucky.

As mentioned above, I ended up here the same way a lot of the other strangers did. I found your blog through the rock star diary which I found through smitten (before it was kitchen) which I found through hit or miss who linked to Deb when she posted this amazing story on NY. I clicked your link because I was told to, LOL. I have been reading you from the beginning. I link to you through your sisters blog, and from your blog I link to Perez... Guess I am just too lazy to bookmark :P Your life is very different than my own, and it fascinates me that people live like you and Brent and your family. The holidays, the cuteness. As for me, I am Jenny. 20something living in Ontario, Canada, happily married and as I said living a different life. You pictures are amazing. Take care.

Hi Lauren,
Ok, ok you've compelled me to write a comment. But just this once! haha I'm a self-acknowledged lurker and just like to take breaks from doing my phd via checking on a number of blogs that I've ended up at and bookmarked for one reason or another. Actually I first found yours through the link you left on Perez Hilton. I think I'm mostly here for the pictures and I guess because when you start looking at someone's blog regularly you have a bit of an urge when surfing the net to see what's new with them. It's quite an odd thing, actually, I mean I've followed people getting engaged and then married on blogs and I have never said a word to them though still felt excited for them all the same. But I like looking at blogs of everyday things written by people living in different places all over the world.
Ok this has turned into a mammoth comment and I never comment on blogs! Look what you've done to me, Lauren!
Anyway, keep at it as long as you keep enjoying it and I wish you much happiness in your life.

I am friends with your sister, who I met through her cousin Jacqueline, who lived on the same floor of my freshman undergraduate dorm as me, along with Really Gay Dave. This makes us all very old. I found your site because I designed it, and I just realized the your banner runneth over in the single-page format and that I should fix that. ;)

I got here via Deb who linked to Rock Star who linked to you.
I've been a reader of Deb's for years--even before she'd met Alex :-)
I come to your site because I love reading about life in college, east coast, being young 20's, and such. I also love the pictures and picture tours.
I live in the northwest corner of Washington state. An hour north of Seattle, 20 minutes south of Canada, Eh. Like Cupcakes we are not hippies, but rather tree huggers. My nickname is 'Tree'. Not because I'm tall but because my French teacher gave me the name in high school and it's just sorta stuck around. I am 34, have a master's degree, am married, and have a 3 year old daughter. I used to be a web manager but now I'm one of those stay home moms. My husband is an engineer. He's always working, often out of town in fabulous places like Hawaii. Bastard.

Hi L:
I have no idea when or how I stumbled across your blog, but I come back every so often to check out your amazing photos. I had you linked from my blog until switching over to the new version of blogger wipped out all of my links.
Here is wishing you the best,
LL

I found your blog through a comment that you left on Perez Hilton. You had pictures from a recent trip to Vermont and it was the first time that I had seen a blog with pictures. It was very interesting to me and from that I started reading your sister's blog. Your lives are very different from mine so it's like reading a story and constantly waiting to see what happens. Best of luck with all you do and don't forget to keep updating us on it :)

As your grandmother of course I am interested in everything you do. You take great pictures and also write well enough to be professional writer. I, no , we, meaning Poppy too love to see the latest blog and enjoy your travel notes. LOVE G @ P

I'm you sister-in-law. Brady and I love to look at your pictures. They're also so interesting. Can't wait for Florida pictures.

Well, I feel I should comment since I may be the Myspace hit you were referring to. I'm a compulsive Myspace blogger (I am with words as you are with pictures), and one day I was listing my favorite blogs to read, the ones that make my day a little brighter. I hope you don't mind. If you have a myspace and would like to add me as a friend, I'd be glad to have ya!
I also saw your blog name on a Perez comment, and was curious about the title. Being that I am inordinately nosey about other people's lives, I became hooked on all of your pics.
Anywho, I'm not a stalker, I swear! Just someone who likes to live vicariously through others...that's not weird, right? :)
Posted by: Jessie at May 27, 2007 09:06 PM
I also found you through Perez Hilton. Being blonde myself, I really liked the name of your blog and decided to check it out. I am about the same age as you (ok....maybe a little older...) and although our lives aren't entirely different I still really enjoy reading your blog and looking at your amazing pictures. Maybe it's because I'm nosy....I also frequently check for updates when I should be studying. Yay for procrastination. Hopefully it's not weird for you that random strangers are so interested in your life. Keep blogging :)

OK, I think it's time to start responding, but don't let this discourage you from commenting if you haven't already! This doesn't mean you have to stop!
Amanda - Thanks for the link!!
Jen R. - EMS all the way!
Cupcakes - I'm so mad that I'm going to miss the 4th of July! I think we all feel like we know you! Thanks for asking about Frisky too, she's doing a lot better!
Canadian in Glasgow, Scotland - Internet lurkers are the best!
Tree - thanks again for inspiring the Tour of Trinity entry and for all your nice comments!
Legal Lane - Now I'm getting hooked on your blog... so expect comments because that's what I do. I wanted to go to law school for a while but then when my only law class' final came up, I chose to study by watching Legally Blonde and failed it, so I guess I'm not going to be a lawyer!
Jessie - I haven't been on MySpace in a few years and I will definitely add you as a friend if I can ever figure out what my password is!
Christine - I'm nosy too, I always creep myself out with how involved I get with people's lives who I don't even know. Thanks for reading!
Friends and Family - You guys talk to me all the time and comment a lot so I didn't really think I needed to respond to everyone because I openly take you for granted.
Everyone else - So many people left similar comments about how they enjoy reading blogs about people with completely different lives than their own. I feel like I live such a normal uninteresting life sometimes, so it's nice to know that someone finds me interesting! Start your own blogs and send them to me so that I can read about you guys!

I'm 29, female, and live in San Francisco. I found you via your sister who I found via Deb. All of you are so funny and entertaining. I also get so wrapped up in blogger's lives, sometimes I feel like I know these people! Also, I love looking at your photos (I'm so jealous of your camera, mine sucks).
