London

Just to preface this entry a little bit, as I wrote this and attached my pictures, I realized that it's extremely repetitive because so many of my pictures are of the same things. Usually, before uploading pictures onto Flickr for my blog, I go through them all and try to take out as many repeats as I can part with but this time I was in a rush and didn't even edit anything on Photoshop, so this is definitely not going to be the greatest entry regarding pictures. Anyway....

I'm finally home and back to posting! I know it's been way too long and I'm sure at least half of you have given up on me entirely, but I promise I have a lot to post now.

Getting back to where I left off with London Intro....

Brent and I flew from Rome to London which became our favorite city in the world. From the airport, we got on a train that took us right into the city. The views out the windows were absolutely gorgeous. Everything was just so green. I was taking these pictures through the window of a moving train so that's why this one is so bad:

London has the greatest taxis in the world, by the way. They're very spacious, have all sorts of personal comfort settings, and every driver speaks perfect English. Also, they're just way cuter than New York taxis:

Escort services in almost every phone booth we saw:

After wandering around our first night there after our terrible hostel that we checked out of immediately followed by a very mediocre Holiday Inn, we headed to the hotel that Brent's dad had booked for us with his amazing hotel points in Knightsbridge, London. On the way, we stopped for waffles:

We got to the Sheraton Park Tower and were absolutely blown away by the gorgeous room we got on the top floor:

Every city in Europe seemed to have one of these chariot statues on top of something:

I felt sort of bad for these guys considering how many stupid pictures people try to take with them every day:

These guys made me think of the movie Hot Fuzz which was hilarious, by the way:

That's the London Eye in the distance, the largest observation wheel in the world:

I got really into taking pictures of things in Brent's sunglasses. I thought it would be fun to do an entry of just sunglasses after I get caught up with all my posts:

I look so grumpy. I think it's because we were lost and Brent wasn't folding the map properly:

I loved the lamp posts:

With a sign like this, how could we not check it out?

We didn't find any horses kicking, biting, or otherwise, though.

Self portrait, of sorts:

I don't know why we were so fascinated by everyday things that were different from home:

It randomly started raining (as it quite often does in England) so we went into a local pub for some fish and chips (my first ever!) while we waited out the storm:

Ok, I can say this because I am a woman so it's not being sexist... but of course the monument to the women of World War II is a wardrobe:

Well that's all I have uploaded for now. This covers about half of our first day of touring around London. The second half of that day brought us to the London Eye which could be an entry in and of itself. Anyway, I'll post more later.
