Pumpkin Eater
Trinity Days Day 1
I rarely do subtitles for my blog entries, but this is the first in a series of Trinity Days entries that I will be doing over the course of the next couple of days. Every October and February, my school has something called Trinity Days when we get a long weekend to "study for midterms." On the first day of Trinity Days this year, Brent and I went to my house so that we would be able to catch an early(ish) train to NYC the next morning. That night, we went to the yacht club for dinner where we had amazing filet mignon. At least that's what most of us had, my dad had something else because he always has to be "different." The only picture I took there was this one of the diving board by the swimming pool which was apparently still filled with water, even in October. Global warming is so much fun!

These next pictures are actually from Trinity Days Day 2, but it was really just the morning before leaving for NYC so I'm calling them part of Day 1.
Brent and I took Rocky to a local pumpkin patch that Saturday morning to get his very first pumpkin! He sniffed them all out just like any smart dog would, and settled on his favorite, a little tiny one that he could carry himself.
Rocky sniffing out his pumpkin:

We then took a slow drive home where Rocky was allowed to stick his head out the window. You can all tell me how bad this is for dogs, something about dust in the air getting into their eyes or whatever, but every dog deserves a couple minutes every now and then:

When Rocky got home, he grabbed his pumpkin by the stem and walked right off with it.
Rocky taking the pumpkin from Brent:

One of my favorite pictures ever of little Rocky:

Here he is standing on his pumpkin to keep it steady while he tries to eat it:

When Rocky started making a real mess, he and his pumpkin got sent out to the front yard to play:

And finally, here he is taking his pumpkin somewhere more private to enjoy:

Rocky eventually realized that once you get far enough in, pumpkins taste pretty disgusting. He left it in the front yard where it became squirrel food, I guess. And that's the story of Rocky and his very first Halloween pumpkin.
