The Seven Day Wonder

So I promised I was going to do this entry to keep up to date with Jocelyn's blog, but I completely forgot! Anyway, my dad got hip replacement surgery a week ago and now has a fully functioning titanium hip rather than human bone which is so out of season.

Here's Dad at the Greenwich Hospital a week ago when he got his surgery:

He was happy because he was on drugs:

Here he is holding his Magic Morphine Remote (Dad loves holding the remote and in the hospital he has his TV and his drug remote, what more could a man want?):

This is to test his lungs (or something, I don't know):

He had such a great setup, a plasma screen TV with 24/7 ESPN and no one to bother him!

Pretending to take a nap when Mom started talking:

Isn't this a pretty hospital?

Anyway, he's out of the hospital now and at Nathaniel Witherell, a rehab center slash nursing home that he happens to be on the board of. Jocelyn posted some pictures of that HERE. He's been doing really well in rehab and has recuperated faster than anyone could have expected! My mom says they call him the "Seven Day Wonder" there, and that he's not letting her forget it! He even has a photo shoot set up for tomorrow to be featured in Nathaniel Witherell's new advertising campaign.

Anyway, I'll post more fun pictures soon... not to imply that Dad in a hospital bed isn't fun.

Goodnight everyone!

Comments

These pictures are so funny and I love your commentary. I asked the staff at Nathaniel Witherell to start treating him like a "regular" person since he has to come home soon!
