Český Krumlov - Part 1
My Český Krumlov entry has so many pictures that I decided to break it up into a few separate, more manageable entries. While Brent and I were in Prague, we decided to take a day trip to Český Krumlov, a Medieval town about three hours south of Prague. Český Krumlov was recently made famous by the movies Hostel and Hostel 2, both of which took place there. What better place to visit than a town where two of the most gruesome horror movies ever about American tourists were filmed? Hostel 2 hit even closer to home, in that it was about American art students studying in Rome who traveled to Český Krumlov afterwards (just like Brent and me!). Unlike the movies, no one kidnapped, tortured, and killed us though, so maybe we didn't get the full experience.
Brent and I took a bus from Prague to Český Krumlov, which was an adventure in and of itself. We were sitting in front of a woman and her seventeen small children, who were all sharing two seats. One of them was particularly fond of reaching around the back of my seat to pull my hair and pinch my clothes, which was really bringing out the germ-a-phobe in me, because I'm fairly certain he hadn't been washed in years.
While I was trying to stay calm and resist the urge to "accidentally" elbow the offending child in the nose, I managed to snap a few shots of the scenery out the window. The pictures aren't great because we were moving, but I wanted to show everyone how open the land in the Czech Republic is. It was actually quite beautiful, and these photos really don't do it justice:

The bus driver who tried to murder us several times:

Český Krumlov is widely considered to be the best preserved Medieval town in the entire world, and I can see why. It truly is stunning:

This is a totally immature picture to take, but I couldn't resist:

Doesn't this look like a miniature version of Prague's Old Town?

The pillar you see in this picture is actually a "plague pillar," which was erected to ward off any future plagues and to thank God for saving the people who survived it:

I have so many more pictures to share, but I have to get to bed now so I'll work on that tomorrow.
Goodnight!

Great pics! I'm always surprised to see how colorful and clean everything is. No garbage on the streets. It's nice to without blinking neon signs too.
